Whether you want your dog to learn the basics for walking well on-lead or just keep them off the couch emBARKERS provides options for customized one-on-one training, home-based behaviour consultations and group classes through our relationship with the qualified professionals at A.C.E Dog Training Ltd.
We may work directly with you and your dog in-house at the emBARKERS HoundLounge or refer you to our colleagues at A.C.E. Dog Training Ltd so that we best meet your needs.
Both emBARKERS and A.C.E support the use of reward-based positive reinforcement training techniques as these are scientifically based and seek to strengthen the relationship you have with your dog. We can offer advice on how to work through a variety of challenges and firmly believe training should be fun for you and your dog.
Dog Training and re-training through emBARKERS and A.C.E Dog Training Ltd is available for many common behaviour issues including house-training, loose lead walking, recalls, barking, chewing, jumping up, object guarding, destructive behaviour, digging, counter surfing, shyness, aggression management and preparing for a new dog in the family.
A.C.E Dog Training Classes are conducted at our Hound Lounge facility on weekends and offer an indoor, high value environment with small classes, experienced instructors and syllabuses geared directly to the everyday needs of pet dogs.
The classes are divided into specific age groups and each deals directly with your dog's needs in both a fun and practical way.
Puppy Primer (5 week course) is for puppies aged between 4-6 months and starts monthly.
Teen Training (5 week course) is for adolescent dogs aged from 6-12 months and starts monthly.
Adult ABC's (5 weeks) is for the older dog over 1 year who has not yet started training in a group environment and starts monthly.
Good Companion (6 week course) is for more advanced dogs ready to take on new challenges and looks toward the nationally recognised Canine Good Citizen certification administered by the New Zealand Kennel Club. This class starts as demand requires.
Speciality classes for tricks' training, reactive dogs or child handlers are sometimes available.
